Silvan H2O: Smarter Rainwater Systems

:: THE AQUASOURCE SYSTEM

Water conservation - is achievable, Aquasource is the answer...

In recognition of the need to deliver cost effective and efficient water savings, Silvan H2O Pty Ltd has developed Aquasource.

Aquasource is a state-of-the-art, modular ‘Rainwater Utilisation System’, designed to reduce a households dependence on mains water for non-drinking purposes. Aquasource achieves this objective by targeting those areas of the household not requiring potable water to operate efficiently.

Currently, 51% of a household’s1 potable water is used in the toilet (20%) the laundry (15%) and hot water (16%).

The name Aquasource is derived from the ability of the system to reliably supply water from two sources automatically with no disconnection even if the electrical supply is interrupted. Rainwater is always supplied as the first source if available. Aquasource is not a tank top up system, but an automatic source of water selection.

Fitting an Aquasource ‘Rainwater Utilisation System’ allows households to use rainwater instead of potable water as the primary source for the toilet, laundry and hot water.

Depending on usage, fitting an Aquasource ‘Rainwater Utilisation System’ can result in significant water and financial savings for the householder. Aquasource can save up to 120,000 litres of potable water per household per year.

Aquasource provides an attractive, practical and contemporary solution to managing a household’s water resources and blend seamlessly with today's modern home designs.

Leading edge technology ensures years of trouble free usage, simply clean the filter regularly and the system will do the rest automatically.

Aquasource provides a simple, cost effective way to save, particularly when installed during construction.

The system consists of:

  • A rain water storage tank (above or underground),
  • Submersible pump,
  • Aquasource controller.
  • And a leaf strainer, entry port and drain plug for easy cleaning and maintenance.

How the Aquasource Rainwater Utilisation System Operates

  • Aquasource is an environmentally friendly modular rainwater harvesting and utilisation system that saves precious potable water and helps to reduce your water bill.

  • Aquasource is a smart system that selects rainwater when available, returns to mains pressure water instantaneously if the tank is empty and reverts back when rainwater is present. There is no need to turn valves on or off manually.

  • Aquasource is a modular system consisting of a rain water storage tank or tanks a submersible pump and controller. Placing the pump inside the tank minimises noise pollution. The Controller housed in an attractive unit on top of the tank, reduces ground clutter and allows access around the unit and garden area.

  • The storage capacity of the system can be increased by adding extra tank modules to the system as required.

  • The tank modules have been sized to fit through a standard doorway to allow installation to be made in areas where backyard access is restricted.

  • Aquasource is a user-friendly system that ensures availability of water when needed.

  • In times of power failure Aquasource will continue to function by returning to mains water.

  • Backflow Protection – the system is factory fitted with a duel check valve manufactured, approved and branded to AS2845-1. The flow switch is directional and will only start the pump when flow is required from the outlet of Aquasource feeding the toilet cisterns or laundry. Rainwater will not drain from the tank, it can only be pumped. The system will not operate unless mains water pressure is present. A mains water pressure reduction control valve is also fitted. Check local council regulations to ensure system compliance.

  • Aquasource unlike other products is not a tank top up system and therefore, Mains Water is never pumped by the system.

  • Aquasource is a complete ready to install package, thereby removing the need to source and assemble all of the various components required to build a similar system. Set and forget. There is no need to turn valves on and off.

  • Systems come in a range of stylish designs and colours designed to blend effortlessly with the external appearance of the modern home.

  • Aquasource systems are available in a number of expandable configurations including:
      - Modular System 750 litre, 1500 litre, 2250 litre and 3000 litres
      - Water Tower 1000 litre, 2000 litre and 3000 litres
      - Classic Round 2000 litre, 3000 litre and 5000 litres
      - Oasis 2000 litre and 3000 litres.
      - Donut 3000 litres
      - Bagel 5000 litres

  • Installation is simple but requires a registered trade’s person to connect the mains water supply via a stop tap, the outlet to the toilet cisterns and fit a standard outdoor 240 volt electrical outlet.

  • Your local water supply authority may have additional requirements for rainwater tanks and the fitting of back flow protection devices, always check. A licensed plumber will be able to advise you on local requirements.

1The average household consumes 270,000 litres of potable water per year.
